Walter N. Peechatka is a seasoned professional who brings to Versant Strategies diverse experience, which includes agriculture, forestry, conservation and the environment.

His career of public service with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the cornerstone of his broad background. He served in senior level positions in two state agencies and his government career culminated with service as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture in the Casey administration and as Acting Secretary and Executive Deputy Secretary of that agency in the Ridge administration.

Rounding out a well-balanced career, Peechatka has served as Chief Executive Officer of two private, non-profit organizations including 10 years recently as Executive Vice President of PennAg Industries Association.

Walt has a unique ability to facilitate discussions toward designing solutions to complex problems. He knows how government functions and how the private sector can appropriately work with the Executive and Legislative branches of government to influence public policy.

He has served as President of several large statewide organizations including the Council of Farm Organizations, Pennsylvania Forestry Association and the Agricultural Awareness Foundation and served six years on the Penn State Board of Trustees, which included leadership positions on the board.
